FIAN NORGE THESIS/PAPER AWARD 2021

HAVE YOU WRITTEN AN INTERESTING THESIS OR PAPER IN THE FIELD OF FOOD SECURITY AND THE RIGHT TO FOOD?

FIAN Norge is awarding a 5 000 NOK prize to a bachelor or master thesis or other paper that contributes to the field of food studies in Norway, either in theory or practice. This field is broadly defined and might include research on food security, right to food, food sovereignty, food justice, food culture and food consumption, among others. FIAN Norge is especially but not exclusively interested in academic works that focus on Norway. For instance, the current status of the right to food in the Norwegian institutions for the elderly. Besides the 5000 NOK prize, the winner will receive support (included publication fees) to transform the thesis into a publishable article/ newspaper article with guidance from two members of FIAN Norge.

FIAN NORGE

FIAN Norge is a human rights organization aiming to defend the right to food, in Norway and internationally.  It has 350 members and depend solely on volunteer work and knowledge. Currently, the organization is “punching above its weight” on policy issues like the Norwegian Food Systems Action Plan, the Committee on Food Security, the Food Systems summit, and the ECSR. 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Being a student or graduate from a Norwegian institution (Bachelor, Master or PhD programme).
• The thesis must be an original work written by the applicant, relevant in today’s political situation.

The Evaluation Committee consists of members from the FIAN Norge board.

DEADLINE

Siste frist for å sende inn er 15. oktober 2021.

Vinner(e) vil bli kontaktet, og resultatene offentliggjøres i slutten av november.
